3 Must Have Blackberry Apps for Acupuncturists

I am an Acupuncturist and yes I use a Blackberry Smartphone (Currently Blackberry Storm 2). Are you suprised? Did you think all acupuncturists were non technology loving hippies? Well that may be true in some (or many) cases depending on what part of the world you are living in.  However, I can say with confidence that the acupuncturists of Ireland (of which I am one) are super tech savvy, needle sticking Jedi's who are happy to fix

your health problems whilst recieving research, news updates and instant messages on their Smartphones!

Below I've listed my favourite applicatons for my Storm 2 (soon to be upgraded to the new BB Bold 9900), read and enjoy.

Blackberry App # 1 - Google Sync

Google Sync while not an application designed by Research In Motion (yes it's designed by Google) has saved my favorite program due to it's ability to wirelessly synchronize your contacts, calendar appointments and tasks between your phone and your Google / GMAIL account. This has been a life saver for me on several occasions and has proven invaluable when it comes to importing contacts quickly from email subscription lists to GMAIL which then sync's with the Blackberry. This is an absolute must have for anyone involved in business with a strong desire to grow and manage an extensive contact list - oh and did I mention it's free..?

Blackberry App # 2 - Blackberry Travel

Stuck in your Acupuncture clinic all day and need to get out? The Blackberry travel app is a phenomenal piece of software that scans your incoming email messages for flight numbers and booking confirmations. This information is then imported to the Blackberry travel app which will keep you update on departure dates and times while offering you the chance to book your accommodation online - via your phone! And yes your travel schedule will automatically import to your blackberry calendar and sync with your Google calendar to keep you in travel synchronization heaven for hours on end..

This is surrely a must have application for those Traditional Chiinese Medicine (TCM) conferences in London, Berlin, Barcelona  and Paris etc..

Blackberry App # 3 - Blackberry Protect

We all love our smart phones as they can be so helpful in business and social networking but what happens when your phone is lost or stolen? Thankfully the folks at RIM have designed another free app which automatically backs up your data and tracks your phone location to protect against the apocalyptic scene of a lost, damaged or stolen phone! Blackberry Protect main functions are:

• Automatic data back up (daily, weekly or monthly) to the BB secure servers
• Easy restore data or restore old settings to a new phone
• Track your phone if stolen or lost (from the BB Protect website)
• Remote deletion of sensitive date (also from the BB Protect website)

So basically this application saves you the trouble of backing up your phone to your desktop pc via usb port every day while allowing easy data restoration or phone tracking if necessary.
